Adelayo Adedayo (born 18 December 1988) is an English actress. She is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows. These include Some Girls (from 2012 to 2014), Timewasters (from 2017 to 2019), and The Responder (starting in 2022).
Early Life and Education
Adelayo Adedayo was born in London, England, on 18 December 1988. Her family comes from the Yoruba people of Nigeria. She grew up in a part of London called Dagenham.
While she was studying law at Brunel University, Adelayo also trained to be an actress. She attended the Identity School of Acting part-time.
Acting Career
Adelayo Adedayo started her film career in 2011 with the movie Sket.
She became famous on television for her roles in two comedy series. First, she starred in the BBC Three sitcom Some Girls, which aired from 2012 to 2014. After that, she was in the ITV2 series Timewasters from 2017 to 2019.
More recently, she has played a new police officer named Rachel Hargreaves. She stars alongside actor Martin Freeman in the BBC One series The Responder. The first season of this show came out in 2022. In 2024, she also took on a main role in the series Supacell.
Awards and Recognition
In 2023, Adelayo Adedayo was recognized for her acting skills. She was nominated for a British Academy Television Award. This nomination was for her excellent performance in the TV series The Responder.
