Admiral Dewey Walker (born September 5, 1898 – died January 7, 2001) was an American pitcher in the Negro leagues during the 1920s. He was known for his skills on the baseball field.
Admiral Walker's Baseball Career
Admiral Walker was born in Navarro County, Texas. He began his professional baseball journey in 1923. His first team was the Milwaukee Bears.
After playing with the Bears, Walker later joined another famous team. In 1927, he played for the Kansas City Monarchs. These teams were part of the Negro leagues. These leagues were professional baseball leagues in the United States. They were active when African American players were not allowed to play in Major League Baseball.
Admiral Walker lived a very long life. He passed away in Chicago, Illinois in 2001. He was 102 years old when he died.
