Adriana Lisboa (born April 25, 1970) is a famous Brazilian writer. She has written many books, including seven novels, and also publishes poetry, short stories, and books for children. Her books were first written in Portuguese. They have been translated into more than twelve other languages.
One of her novels, Crow Blue, was translated into English in 2013. A newspaper called The Independent in London chose it as one of the best books of the year. Adriana Lisboa's stories and poems have appeared in popular magazines like Granta and Modern Poetry in Translation.
Adriana Lisboa is one of Brazil's most important authors. She has won many awards for her writing. These include the José Saramago Prize for Literature for her novel Symphony in White. She also won the Newcomer of the Year Award for her children's poetry book, Língua de trapos. In 2007, she was chosen as one of the 39 most important Latin American writers under 39 years old.
