Agnew's Village, California facts for kids
Agnew's Village was once a small community in what is now Santa Clara, California. It was named after Abram Agnew, a pioneer from Ohio who settled there around 1873. He gave land for a South Pacific Coast Railroad station. This led to the station and the town being called "Agnew's." The old railroad station is still there today.

Agnew's land was shown on maps as early as 1877. It was across from a paper mill called Lick Mill. This mill was run by James Lick. Agnew's Village became part of Santa Clara in the mid-1980s.
The name Agnew is still used in Santa Clara. You can find Agnew Park there. Also, the western part of the former Agnews Developmental Center was in Agnew's Village. This area is now the Rivermark community. It is also home to a research and development campus for Oracle Corporation. This campus used to be the main office for Sun Microsystems. It includes the 14.5-acre Agnews Historic Park.
