Train Station Days
For many years, Agricola was a busy stop on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. This railway was a very important way for people and goods to travel across the country. Having a train station meant Agricola was connected to other towns and cities, helping the community grow.
The Post Office
Agricola also had its own post office for a long time, from 1875 until 1974. A post office is where people send and receive letters and packages. For a while, the post office was even called "Hardpan" before it became known as Agricola.
