Aguasay is one of the 13 municipalities in the state of Monagas, Venezuela. It is a special place known for its unique culture and natural environment.

History of Aguasay

Aguasay became an important area in 1987. At that time, it was made a municipality within the old Maturín District. Later, on September 27, 1994, Aguasay officially separated from the Municipality of Maturín. This event created the independent Aguasay Autonomous Municipality.

Geography of Aguasay

Aguasay Municipality is located in the western part of the Monagas State. It shares its northern borders with the Ezequiel Zamora and Santa Bárbara municipalities.

The land in Aguasay is mostly flat, like a large table. The area has a tropical dry forest type of plant life. The average temperature throughout the year is about 25.4°C (77.7°F). It also receives an average of 1,055 mm of rain each year.
