Ahl-e Haqq facts for kids
Ahl-e Haqq (pronounced "Ah-lay Hahk") is a special religious group. Its name means "people of truth" in Persian. Most followers live in areas like Iraqi Kurdistan, and in parts of Iran called Lorestan and Kermanshah. Many also live in other countries around the world. It's thought that about 1 million people follow this religion.
What Ahl-e Haqq Believes
The Ahl-e Haqq faith has ideas from other religions like Shi'a Islam, Yazidi, and Alevism. A main belief is that their God appears on Earth in different forms, seven times in total. This idea is called reincarnation, where a spirit comes back in a new body.
Spiritual Practices
Followers of Ahl-e Haqq also practice something called Dhikr. This comes from Sufism, which is a mystical part of Islam. Dhikr means remembering God through special prayers or chants. They also share meals together and live in a friendly, brotherly way.
A historian named Wladimir Fjodorowich Minorski was one of the first people to write about this religious community.
