Ahpeatone, Oklahoma facts for kids
Ahpeatone is a small place in Cotton County, Oklahoma, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and buildings, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
Ahpeatone was named after a very important person: Ahpeatone, who was a chief of the Kiowa people.
This community once had its own post office. It was open for several years, from July 22, 1907, until June 30, 1916.
You can find Ahpeatone about 16 miles directly east of Walters. Walters is the main town, or "county seat," of Cotton County. Ahpeatone is also located just south of Oklahoma State Highway 5.
