Aindrias Ó Caoimh (born 1 April 1950) is a retired judge from Ireland. He worked as a judge at the European Court of Justice from 2004 to 2015. This is a very important court in Europe. Before that, he was a judge at the High Court in Ireland from 1999 to 2004.

Aindrias Ó Caoimh was born in Dublin, Ireland, on April 1, 1950. He went to school at Synge Street CBS. For his higher education, he studied at University College Dublin. He also attended King's Inns, which is a special place where lawyers in Ireland learn their profession.
A Family of Lawyers
Aindrias Ó Caoimh comes from a family with a strong legal background. His father, also named Aindrias Ó Caoimh, was a very important lawyer. He served as the Attorney General of Ireland twice. The Attorney General is the chief legal advisor to the government. His father was also a judge at the European Court of Justice from 1974 to 1985. This means both father and son served on the same high court.
His uncle, Brian Ó Cuív, was also connected to an important Irish family. He was the son-in-law of Éamon de Valera, who was a famous leader in Irish history.
Career as a Lawyer and Judge
Aindrias Ó Caoimh started his legal career in 1972. This is when he was "called to the Bar". This means he officially became a lawyer. He worked as a lawyer for many years. In 1994, he became a Senior Counsel. This is a special title for experienced and highly respected lawyers in Ireland.
