Aixinjueluo Yuhuan (Chinese: 愛新覺羅·毓峘; Àixīnjuéluó Yùhuán) was a talented Chinese artist and musician. He was born in October 1929 in Beijing, China, and passed away on June 23, 2003.
Yuhuan was special because he was a descendant of the Qing Dynasty royal family. This was the last imperial family to rule China. He was the great-great-grandson of the Daoguang Emperor. He grew up in the famous Prince Gong Mansion in Beijing.

Art Career
Yuhuan became a well-known artist in China. In 1957, he joined the China Artists' Association, a group for professional artists. His work was also featured in "The Chinese Great Artists' Dictionary" in 1981.
He won many awards for his traditional Chinese art. His paintings often showed beautiful landscapes, people, and close-up views of flowers and bamboo.
Learning to Paint
Yuhuan was the only son of Aixinjueluo Pu Shu Ming. His family lived in the Prince Gong Mansion even after the Qing Dynasty ended. He was lucky to have an uncle named Pu Xin-Yu, who was a very famous traditional Chinese artist. His uncle taught him how to paint, and Yuhuan quickly fell in love with art.
When he was in junior high school, Yuhuan even started publishing his own comics in newspapers! He became more and more interested in art. Later, he was accepted into the Arts Department at Beijing Normal University. It was interesting because at the university, he learned about Western art, even though he was used to traditional Chinese paintings.
Music Career
Besides being a painter, Yuhuan was also a skilled musician. He played the sanxian, a traditional Chinese instrument. He started learning music when he was a child, while still living in the Prince Gong Mansion. By the time he passed away, he had mastered many difficult songs and continued to play into his late 60s.
The Song of Qing Dynasty
When Yuhuan was eight years old, he began learning the sanxian. This instrument is very old, about 500 years old! The special song he learned came from the Qing Dynasty, the same dynasty his great-great-grandfather ruled.
This song was very long, with 13 different parts. Each part could last from 20 to 45 minutes! His teacher only knew these 13 parts, so Yuhuan didn't learn the whole song. Even so, it took him two years to master what he learned, with one two-hour lesson each week. He later taught this special song to a teacher at the Central Conservatoire of Music in Beijing. His student also took two years to learn it!
Global Recognition
Many important people from different countries met with Yuhuan. Leaders and foreign ministers from countries like Hungary, Germany, the USA, Canada, and Japan either bought his paintings or received them as gifts.
He also traveled to many universities in places like Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia to give talks about art. His artwork was shown in galleries and exhibitions in these countries too.

Aixinjueluo Yuhuan had three successful sons:
