Akihiro Endō (遠藤 彰弘, born September 18, 1975) is a former Japanese footballer who played as a midfielder. He was known for his skills in the middle of the field. His younger brother, Yasuhito Endō, is also a famous football player.

Playing for Clubs
Akihiro Endō was born in Kagoshima, Japan. After finishing high school, he joined a football club called Yokohama Marinos in 1994. This club later became known as Yokohama F. Marinos.
He started playing in matches in 1995. From then on, he played in many games as a midfielder. In 1995, his club, Yokohama Marinos, won the J1 League championship. This was a big achievement for the team.
From 1999, Akihiro Endō became a regular player, meaning he played almost every game. During this time, his club won more titles:
- The 2001 J.League Cup
- The J1 League in 2003
- The J1 League again in 2004
In 2005, he started playing less often. So, in July 2005, he moved to another club called Vissel Kobe. He played for Vissel Kobe until the end of the 2007 season, when he decided to retire from professional football.
Representing Japan
In July 1996, Akihiro Endō was chosen to play for the Japan U-23 national team. This team participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics football tournament.
At the Olympics, he wore the number 10 jersey for Japan. He played in the very first match against Brazil. Japan surprisingly won that game against the strong Brazilian team. This victory became famous in Japan as the "Miracle of Miami" (マイアミの奇跡). It was a truly memorable moment for Japanese football fans.
