Akihiro Hino (日野 晃博, Hino Akihiro) (born July 20, 1968) is a Japanese video game designer and businessman. He is famous for creating many popular video game series. Hino started his career as a programmer in the 1990s. Later, he began writing stories, designing games, and producing them. He founded his own company, Level-5, in 1998. He is still the president and CEO of Level-5 today.

Akihiro Hino's Early Career
Hino began working in video games in the late 1980s. He joined a Japanese company called Riverhillsoft. There, he worked on the OverBlood series for the first PlayStation console. Hino was the main programmer for the first OverBlood game. After that, he became the lead designer and director for OverBlood 2.
Founding Level-5
Akihiro Hino started his own video game company, Level-5, in October 1998. Since then, he has designed, planned, and produced many of the studio's games. Some of these early games include Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicle, and Rogue Galaxy for the PlayStation 2. He also worked on Jeanne d'Arc for the PlayStation Portable. For the Nintendo DS, he created Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Hino also directed Dragon Quest VIII for Square Enix.
Recent Projects and Popular Games
More recently, Hino has continued to design and produce games for Level-5. He worked on White Knight Chronicles for the PlayStation 3. He also created more Professor Layton games for the Nintendo DS. These include the Diabolical Box and the Unwound Future. He also developed Inazuma Eleven for the Nintendo DS. Hino's studio also worked with Square Enix again on Dragon Quest IX for the DS. He is well-known for creating the Yo-kai Watch series, which became very popular.
