Akihiro Sakata started his football journey playing for Ritsumeikan University from 2003 to 2006. After his university years, he became a professional player.
Early Professional Career
In 2007, Akihiro Sakata joined Cerezo Osaka. He played for them for two seasons. He then moved to Shonan Bellmare in 2009. With Shonan Bellmare, he played in both the J2 League and the top-tier J1 League.
Time at Oita Trinita
Akihiro Sakata spent a significant part of his career with Oita Trinita. He joined the team in 2011. He played many games for them over five seasons. During his time there, he helped the team in both J1 and J2 League matches. He was a key defender for Oita Trinita.
Later Career Teams
