Akihiro Tabata was born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, on May 15, 1978. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career.
Starting with Urawa Reds
In 1997, Tabata joined his local team, Urawa Reds. He quickly became an important player. He often played as a center back, which is a defender who plays in the middle of the field. He played many games in his first year. However, he played fewer games after 1998.
Moving to JEF United Ichihara
In June 2001, Tabata moved to another team, JEF United Ichihara. But he did not get to play much in games there.
Playing for Consadole Sapporo
In 2003, he joined J2 League club Consadole Sapporo. In his first year with this team, he still didn't play many matches. But in 2004, things changed. He became a regular player for the team. He played as a defensive midfielder, helping to protect the team's goal. Towards the end of 2005, he played less often. Akihiro Tabata decided to retire from football at the end of the 2005 season.
