Jared K. Bridgeman, born on May 3, 1974, is an American rapper known by his stage name Akrobatik. He grew up in the Dorchester area of Boston, Massachusetts. Akrobatik is also a member of the hip-hop group The Perceptionists, which includes Mr. Lif and DJ Fakts One. Their album, Black Dialogue, was released in 2005.

Akrobatik began his music career in 1998. His first song, "Ruff Enough," was released by Detonator Records in Boston. After that, he released other songs like "Internet MCs" and "Say Yes Say Word."

Album Releases and Success
In 2003, Akrobatik released his album, Balance, through Coup D'état. This album was very popular, reaching number 4 on CMJ's "Hip-Hop 2003" chart.
Later, in December 2005, Akrobatik signed with Fat Beats Records. This record label, based in Brooklyn, released his second studio album, Absolute Value, in 2008. The album received positive reviews from music critics.
Overcoming Challenges
In 2011, Akrobatik faced a serious health challenge when he had a ruptured heart valve. He had to have emergency surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. After his recovery, he released an album in 2014 called Built to Last. This album was recognized by Spin magazine as one of the best hip-hop albums of that year.
