Corey Isiah Christie (born August 24, 1977) is an American rapper better known by his stage name, Reks. He comes from the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts, where he became a well-known artist in the local underground rap scene. This means he got his start outside of the mainstream music industry.
Reks released his first album, Along Came The Chosen, in 2001. Since then, he has recorded many more albums and has worked with other artists on their songs and mixtapes.

How Reks Got His Start
Before he was a rapper, Reks was a talented breakdancer during his teenage years. He was part of a dance group called Funk Town Connection.
When he went to college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he started to get noticed in the Boston rap community. He became so focused on his music that he decided to leave school to start recording with a label called Brick Records.
In 2001, he released his first full album, Along Came the Chosen. The album was a success and earned him nominations for Hip-Hop Album and Artist of the Year from the Boston Music Awards. This showed that people in the music world were paying attention to his talent.
