Ariyan Arslani (born December 2, 1983), known as Action Bronson, is an American rapper and TV host. He grew up in Queens, New York City. He first released his album Dr. Lecter on his own in 2011.

In 2012, Action Bronson signed with a big record company called Warner Bros. Records. Later, he moved to Vice Records. He made popular mixtapes like Rare Chandeliers (2012) and Blue Chips 2 (2013). His first major album, Mr. Wonderful, came out in 2015. It reached number seven on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Besides music, Action Bronson also hosts TV shows. These include The Untitled Action Bronson Show, a talk show about food. His friends and fellow artists often appear on his shows. Famous chefs have also been guests.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Ariyan Arslani was born in Flushing, Queens, New York City, on December 2, 1983. His father was from Albania and was Muslim. His mother was American and Jewish. He went to Bayside High School and finished in 2002.

Before becoming a rapper, Action Bronson worked as a cook. He cooked at his father's Mediterranean restaurant in Forest Hills, Queens. He even had his own online cooking show called Action in the Kitchen. After he broke his leg in the kitchen, he decided to focus only on rapping.

First Albums and Mixtapes

Action Bronson's first album, Dr. Lecter, was released on March 15, 2011. A music producer from New York City named Tommy Mas produced all the songs. Later that year, Bronson released Well-Done with hip hop producer Statik Selektah.

In 2012, he released his second mixtape, Blue Chips, with Party Supplies.

In August 2012, Action Bronson signed a management deal with Goliath Artists. This company also works with famous artists like Eminem. Around the same time, he joined Warner Bros. Records and a concert booking company.

On November 15, 2012, Bronson released Rare Chandeliers. This was a mixtape he made with The Alchemist.

In March 2013, Bronson performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. He was also featured in XXL Magazine's 2013 Freshman Class. This list highlights new and rising rappers. In May 2013, Action Bronson moved to Atlantic Records. He then released an extended play (EP) called Saaab Stories on June 11, 2013. This EP was produced by Harry Fraud. It included songs with other rappers like Raekwon and Wiz Khalifa.

On November 1, 2013, Bronson released Blue Chips 2. This was the second part of his Blue Chips series.

In February 2014, Action Bronson toured Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. He performed with Eminem and other rappers.

On August 5, 2014, Bronson released "Easy Rider". This was the first song from his second album, Mr. Wonderful. The music video for "Easy Rider" was released later that month. It was inspired by a 1969 movie. The full album came out on March 23, 2015.

In October 2015, Action Bronson had to go to the hospital for a health issue. He recovered well after a few days.

On August 25, 2017, he released his third album, Blue Chips 7000. This album was a follow-up to his 2013 mixtape. In September 2017, Action Bronson also published a cookbook. The cookbook was based on his travel show.

In October 2018, Bronson announced he was leaving Vice. This company was both his record label and TV network. In November 2018, he announced a tour for his album White Bronco.

On August 9, 2020, Bronson shared the name of his fifth album, Only for Dolphins. It was released on September 25, 2020. Bronson himself painted the album cover.

His sixth album, Cocodrillo Turbo, came out on April 29, 2022. His seventh album, Johann Sebastian Bachlava the Doctor, was released on July 11, 2024. This was his first independent album in over ten years.

Action Bronson has starred in TV shows on the Viceland channel. He hosted a nightly food talk show called The Untitled Action Bronson Show. He also starred in a comedy show called Traveling the Stars: Action Bronson and Friends Watch 'Ancient Aliens'.

He has had small roles in movies like The Irishman (2019) and The King of Staten Island (2020). Bronson also appeared in professional wrestling events in 2022. He even wrestled his first match, teaming with Hook to win.

Influences and Inspirations

Action Bronson says that other American rappers have greatly influenced him. These include Kool G Rap, Nas, Cam'ron, Mobb Deep, UGK, and the Wu-Tang Clan. He also enjoys music from Michael Jackson, Carlos Santana, Queen, and Albanian wedding singers.

Rapping Style and Topics

Bronson often raps about food in his songs. He is also known for mentioning athletes and sports teams. His lyrics often talk about sports in New York City. He also includes less common sports topics like professional wrestlers and figure skating.

Early in his career, people noticed that Bronson's rapping style sounded like Ghostface Killah from Wu-Tang Clan. Ghostface Killah himself said he sometimes confused Bronson's rapping for his own. In an interview, Bronson said it was fine to be compared to one of the best rappers. He added that he looks up to Kool G Rap the most. He also said he is his own unique artist.

Personal Life

Action Bronson has three children. His youngest son was born in November 2019.

In 2020, Bronson decided to make big changes to his health. He had reached a high body weight and had health problems. After his son was born, he started eating healthier. He also began boxing and high-intensity interval training. By December 2020, he had lost a lot of weight. In 2021, he started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
