Alájar is a charming town in the Huelva province of Spain. It's also a municipality, which means it's a local government area. In 2005, about 771 people lived here.
You might know Alájar from the Bollywood movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. A famous song called "Señorita" was filmed right in this town!
In the 1800s, Alájar had eight small villages nearby. Today, only four of these villages are still lived in. They are El Calabacino, El Collado, El Cabezuelo, and Los Madroñeros.

Alájar is a great place to visit, with lots of interesting history and beautiful nature. Many people come here every year to explore its unique sights.
The Peña de Arias Montano: A Special Place
The Peña de Arias Montano is a natural monument. It's a big rock formation with amazing views. This spot is named after a famous thinker from the 1500s, Benito Arias Montano. He was a theologian and humanist. He came here to live after working on an important book called the Polyglot Bible.
Today, you can see a statue of Benito Arias Montano here. It was made in 1927. From the Peña, you can see Alájar and much of the southern Huelva province. There are also caves below the Peña, but one called Palacio Osucro is currently closed.
Bollywood in Alájar
In 2011, the town of Alájar became famous thanks to Bollywood! The movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (which means "You Only Live Once") filmed a song here. The song "Señorita" was shot over three nights. Many local people even dressed up in costumes and joined in the filming!

Reina de los Ángeles Hermitage
The Ermita de la Reina de los Ángeles is a chapel from the 1500s. It's located right within the Peña de Alájar. This old building has been added to over time. It has a main hall, a special area for the priest, and other rooms. The main hall has two pointed arches that rise from pillars.
Portada Almohadillada
This interesting structure is found in front of the Hermitage. It has two half-columns and an arch. It looks like Renaissance architecture, but its exact history is not known.
Espadaña y Garitas
At the edge of the plateau where the Reina de los Ángeles Hermitage sits, you'll find a picturesque steeple. It's called an Espadaña. It has two levels. The bottom part has six half-columns and a round arch. The top part has an oval window. Three bells hang here, making it a beautiful sight.
