Alair started his football career in Brazil. He joined the youth team of PSTC in 1998. He played there until 2000, learning the skills needed to become a professional player.
Playing in Japan
Alair spent a big part of his career playing in Japan. He first joined Shimizu S-Pulse in 2001. After that, he moved to Ventforet Kofu in 2002. He played many games for Ventforet Kofu, appearing in 129 matches and scoring 4 goals. He helped the team in both the J1 League and J2 League.
Later, Alair also played for Ehime FC. He had two different periods with this club, from 2009 to 2010 and again from 2012 to 2013. During his time at Ehime FC, he played 81 games and scored 7 goals. He also played for Kyoto Sanga FC in 2011.
