About Alan Averill

Early Life and Joining Primordial

Alan Averill grew up in Sutton, a part of Dublin, Ireland. He went to Mount Temple Comprehensive School. In August 1991, Alan saw an advertisement from a band looking for a singer in a local music store. He joined them, and that band became Primordial.

Other Music Projects

Alan has been involved in several other bands and music groups. He was the singer for a doom metal band called Void of Silence. He sang on their album Human Antithesis before leaving the group in 2009.

He also traveled to Canada to record vocals for "Indoctrine," the first album by the band Blood Revolt. This album was released in late 2010.

Another group Alan leads is Twilight of the Gods. This band started as a way to pay tribute to another band called Bathory by playing their songs live. The group includes other talented musicians like Nick Barker, Rune Eriksen, Patrik Lindgren, and Frode Glesnes. Twilight of the Gods released their first album, Fire on the Mountain, in September 2013.

Alan's Work in the Music Industry

Beyond performing, Alan Averill also works behind the scenes in the music world. In 2008, he earned a degree in Journalism from Dublin City University. He is a writer for Zero Tolerance magazine, where he shares his thoughts on music. In 2010, he started working for Metal Blade Records, helping to find new musical talent. He also created his own record label called Poison Tongue Records.
