Albert "Al" Gilbert (November 18, 1922 – January 22, 2019) was a famous Canadian photographer. Many people called him the "Ambassador of Canadian Photography" because he was so good at showing Canada through his pictures.
He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His family came from a Jewish background in Ukraine. Al learned photography from his father, Nathan Gittelmacher, who was also a photographer. Starting in 1950, Al Gilbert took pictures of all the Prime Ministers of Israel.
