Alberto Casañal Shakery (1875–1943) was a talented Spanish writer. He was known for his poems, plays, and humorous stories. He often wrote about the Aragon region of Spain, where he lived most of his life.

Alberto was born in San Roque, Cádiz, but he moved to Zaragoza when he was a child. He stayed there for the rest of his life. He studied Physics and Chemistry and later taught Mathematics. He loved to write verses, especially a type of poem called romances. He also collected traditional songs from Aragon and Castile. Many of his works were funny and showed a strong love for his home region. Sometimes, he worked with his friend Pablo Parellada on plays. He also wrote for several magazines and newspapers.
