Long ago, Albisrieden was its own small town. But in 1934, it became a part of Zürich. Today, about 17,226 people live here. The area covers about 4.6 square kilometers, which is roughly 1.8 square miles.

Churches in Albisrieden
Albisrieden is home to several churches, each with its own history and style. These buildings are important parts of the community.
Evangelical Reformed Churches
There are two churches in Albisrieden that belong to the Evangelical Reformed faith. This is a type of Protestant church common in Switzerland.
The Old Church (Alte Kirche)
The Alte Kirche Albisrieden, which means "Old Church of Albisrieden," was built a long time ago, between 1816 and 1818. It stands right in the middle of the old village area. A person named Hans Conrad Stadler designed this church.
The New Church (Neue Kirche)
The Neue Kirche Albisrieden, or "New Church of Albisrieden," is much newer. It was built between 1949 and 1951. You can find it about 800 meters away from the Old Church. The architect who designed this church was Hans Martin von Meyenburg.
St. Konrad Catholic Church
Albisrieden also has a Roman Catholic church called St. Konrad. This church was built between 1953 and 1955. It was designed by two architects, Ferdinand Pfammatter and Walter Rieger.
