Alex Scarrow's Journey
Alex Scarrow had a very interesting journey before becoming a writer! After college, he spent ten years trying to make it as a rock guitarist in a band. When he realized that becoming a famous musician might not happen, he changed paths.
He then became a graphic artist. After that, he decided to design computer games. He worked on many popular games like Waterworld, Evolva, The Thing, and Spartan.
Alex Scarrow first started writing screenplays for movies. When it was tough to get them made into films, he turned one of his best screenplays into a successful novel called A Thousand Suns. Since then, he has written many more popular books, including October Skies. He also writes a very successful series for young adults, the TimeRiders books. He says these books let him have a lot of fun with the ideas he used when designing games.
Today, Alex Scarrow lives in Norwich, England, with his son, Jacob, and his partner, Debbie.
