Alex studied illustration at Coventry University. He finished his degree in 2006. This is where he learned how to create all the wonderful drawings for his books.

The adventures of Claude, a small, plump dog who wears a beret and a lovely jumper, were told in a series of 10 books. These books came out between 2011 and 2016. Claude is always joined by his best friend, Sir Bobblysock. Claude's owners, Mr. and Mrs. Shinyshoes, are also part of his fun adventures.

Claude is a very popular character! He was even chosen as one of the top five favorite fictional characters by author Clara Vulliamy. You can also find Claude on gift cards from National Book Tokens.

In 2013, it was announced that the Claude books would become a TV show! The show was made by Sixteen South and was perfect for kids aged 4–6. It first aired on Disney Junior in June 2018, bringing Claude's adventures to life on screen.
