Alexander Dennis Enviro300 facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Alexander Dennis Enviro300 is a type of single-decker low-floor bus. It was first known as the TransBus Enviro300. This bus was built in two main versions between 2001 and 2015.

The company TransBus International built it until 2004. After that, Alexander Dennis took over its production.

First Version (2001–2008)

The first version of this bus, called the TransBus Enviro300, came out in 2001. In 2004, TransBus International was sold to Alexander Dennis. Because of this, the bus was renamed the Alexander Dennis Enviro300.

By 2006, the main frame of the Enviro300, called the chassis, could also be used with a different bus body. This body was known as the East Lancs Esteem.

Second Version (2007–2015)

The second version of the Enviro300 was introduced in 2007. This newer model could use different types of chassis (the base frame of the bus). Some of these included frames from companies like MAN 18.240, Volvo B7RLE, and Scania K230UB.

In April 2013, a special version was released. This bus, called the Enviro300SG, ran on natural gas. It used the Scania K230UB chassis. Alexander Dennis and Scania worked together to build these gas-powered buses.
