Alexander Dennis Enviro400 facts for kids

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 is a popular double-decker bus. It's built by a company called Alexander Dennis. These buses are known for being "low-floor," which means it's easy for everyone to get on and off. Since 2005, there have been two main versions, or "generations," of this bus.

The First Enviro400 Buses (2005–2015)

The very first Enviro400 buses came out in December 2005. They were a new design for double-decker buses at the time.

The Newer Enviro400 (2014–Present)

The second version of the Enviro400 was launched in May 2014. This newer model is often called the Enviro400 MMC. It has updated features and a fresh look.

Enviro400H: A Hybrid Bus

A special version of the Enviro400 is the Enviro400H. This bus uses a diesel-electric hybrid engine. It means it runs on both diesel fuel and electricity. This helps save fuel and reduce pollution. The Enviro400H was first introduced in October 2015.

Enviro400H City: Designed for London

The Enviro400H City is another hybrid version. It also came out in October 2015. This bus was specially designed for the busy streets of London. It looks a lot like the famous New Routemaster buses and the Enviro200 MMC. The Enviro400H City is mainly sold as a hybrid bus in London. It helps provide cleaner public transport in the city.
