About the Alexander Noble House

Who Was Alexander Noble?

Alexander Noble was a very important person in the early days of Fish Creek. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1829. He moved to Fish Creek in 1863 and helped start the community.

Noble was a busy man! He worked as a blacksmith, which means he shaped metal. He was also the postmaster, handling all the mail. Plus, he served as the town chairman and was a member of the county board. This means he helped make important decisions for the area.

The House Today

Today, the Alexander Noble House has been carefully restored. It looks much like it did when the Noble family lived there. Many of the original furniture pieces and items are still inside.

The rooms show what life was like between 1875 and 1900. When you visit, you can imagine how people lived over a century ago. The tours help you see Fish Creek as it was then. It was a busy village with fishing and shipping, and horse-drawn wagons on dirt roads.
