Alexander Alexandrov Raytchev (Bulgarian: Александър Александров Райчев), born on March 15, 1975, in Sofia, Bulgaria, is a talented Bulgarian classical pianist and composer. He currently lives in Germany.

Alexander Raytchev comes from a family of artists. His father, Alexandar Ivanow Raytchev, was a famous composer. His mother, Milena Atanassova, is an actress. She performs at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre in Sofia.

Early Life and Education

Alexander started playing the piano when he was just five years old. Six years later, he won a national competition called PROWADIA. He was also invited to a special event in Baden-Baden, Germany, as a young composer. His compositions were even honored in Japan.

After finishing high school in 1993, Alexander studied piano and composition. He attended the University of Music Trossingen with Johannes van Beek. At the same time, he studied with Jowtsho Kruschev in Sofia. Later, he earned a special "Concert Exam" degree. He studied with famous teachers like Arie Vardi and Bernd Goetzke at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover.

Awards and Recordings

Alexander has won many awards for his musical talent. He won the Students' Competition in Hanover. He also won the "Performance of the Year" contest with the Sofia Radio Orchestra. In 2000, he was named "Musician of the Year" in Bulgaria.

He has recorded music on CDs. One of his recordings includes Sergei Rachmaninov's Concerto No. 3 and the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. These were released by the American music company Music Minus One.

Career and Projects

Alexander enjoys combining music with literature. He has worked on projects with famous actors like Ulrich Tukur. Since 2004, he has been a special guest soloist with the Sofia Symphonic Orchestra.

Today, Alexander lives in Hamburg, Germany. From there, he plans his international tours to places like the United States and Japan. He also creates unique multimedia concerts for the Planetarium Hamburg. These shows combine classical music with amazing picture projections. Alexander also teaches music and performs with different groups. He plays with singers from the Staatsoper Hannover and musicians from the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra.
