Alfredo Paolo Dumlao Vargas III (born October 24, 1979) is a well-known Filipino politician, actor, and model. He currently serves as a councilor for Quezon City's 5th district, a role he has held since 2022. Before this, he was a city councilor for the 2nd district from 2010 to 2013. He also served as a representative for the 5th district from 2013 to 2022. Many people know him from his acting roles, especially as Aquil and Amarro in the Encantadia TV series.

Alfred Vargas was born on October 24, 1979, in Quezon City. His parents are Alfredo "Freddieboy" Vargas, Jr. and Atty. Susana Dumlao-Vargas.

He studied Management Economics at Ateneo de Manila University. Later, he earned a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Alfred's Acting Journey

Alfred started his acting career with ABS-CBN's Star Magic workshop. His first TV role was in the drama Pangako Sa 'Yo. He was also the lead singer of his band, Privado. Even while working as a politician, he continued acting in TV shows like Kambal, Karibal.

Family Life

Alfred Vargas married Yasmine Espiritu in 2010. They have four children together.

Alfred Vargas began his political career in 2010. He was elected as a city councilor for Quezon City's 2nd district. He received the second-highest number of votes in that election.

In 2013, he became the first representative for the new 5th district. He was re-elected in 2016 and again in 2019. During his time as a representative, he helped pass important laws. These laws include the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (RA 10931), which helps students get free college education. He also supported laws like RA 10645, which provides health coverage for senior citizens, and RA 10747, the Rare Diseases Act. He often spoke up for people with disabilities and cancer patients.

After serving three terms as a representative, he could not run for that position again. In 2022, he successfully ran for city councilor, switching roles with his brother, Patrick Michael Vargas.
