Becoming a Champion in 2022
The year 2022 was very important for Alia. She had a tough start, being disqualified from some indoor races. But she did not give up!
In June 2022, Alia won a big outdoor championship. This was the NCAA championship for the 100 metres hurdles. It took place in Eugene, Oregon. She ran incredibly fast, setting a new personal best (PB) time of 12.55 seconds in the semi-finals. Then, she won the final with a time of 12.57 seconds.
After her NCAA win, Alia continued to shine. She finished third in the 2022 USATF championship. This race was also held in Eugene, Oregon. She ran an even faster personal best time of 12.47 seconds in the final.
Representing the USA
Because of her amazing performance, Alia earned a spot on the USA team. She got to compete in the 2022 World Athletics Championships. This was her first time competing in such a major international event. She ran 12.48 seconds in the heats, which helped her reach the semi-finals.
Beyond the Track: A Docuseries Star
Alia Armstrong was also featured in a special TV show. It was called The Money Game: LSU. This show was a six-part docuseries by Prime Video. A docuseries is like a documentary that has many episodes.
