Alice Archenhold (born Markus; August 27, 1874 – February 9, 1943) was a German astronomer. She was married to another famous astronomer, Friedrich Simon Archenhold.

Alice Archenhold's Early Life and Family
Alice Markus was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. In July 1897, she married Friedrich Simon Archenhold. They lived together in Berlin. Alice and Friedrich had five children. Two of their sons, Günter and Horst, later moved to England. Günter also became an astronomer, just like his parents.
A Difficult Time in History
Sadly, during a very difficult period, Alice and her daughter Hilde faced great hardship. They were taken to a camp called Theresienstadt concentration camp in Czechoslovakia. Alice Archenhold passed away there on February 9, 1943.
Remembering Alice Archenhold
Alice Archenhold is remembered and honored in several ways. Her name is on her husband's grave at the Zentralfriedhof Friedrichsfelde cemetery in Berlin. This shows that she is still thought of and respected.
In 2010, a street in Berlin was named after her. This street is called Alice Archenhold Weg. It is located in the Treptow-Köpenick area of the city. Naming a street after her helps people remember her contributions and her life.
