Her Unique Book Sculptures
Alicín Martín is best known for her incredible sculptures made from books. Her art often shows books flowing out of windows or walls, creating a sense of movement and wonder.
One of her first large book sculptures was at the Casa de America in Madrid. Another impressive work was in Córdoba. This sculpture was huge, standing 5.5 meters (about 18 feet) tall. It was made from 5,000 books that people had donated. A team of eight people worked for 48 hours to build it. The books looked like they were pouring out of a window of the Molino de San Antonio, almost as if they could fill the River Guadalquivir with their stories.
