All Saints' Church, Annesley is a special church located in Annesley, Nottinghamshire, England. It belongs to the Church of England, which is the main Christian church in England. This church is considered very important. It has a special status called 'Grade II* listed'. This means the government believes it is a particularly significant building. It is important not just locally, but for the whole country.

History of All Saints' Church

This church was built in 1874. It was designed by a famous architect named Thomas Graham Jackson. The new church was built to replace an older church. That old church was located on the Annesley estate. For many years, until 1942, church services were held at both the old and new churches.

Fire and Re-opening

Sadly, the inside of All Saints' Church was badly damaged by a fire in 1907. But the community worked hard to fix it. The church was fully re-opened just two years later, in 1909. Two of the most beautiful parts of the church are its old Norman font and the stunning East window.

Special Items in the Church

The church holds some interesting historical items. One of these is the 'achievement of arms' belonging to Patrick Chaworth, 3rd Viscount Chaworth. An achievement of arms is like a special display of a family's coat of arms. This item, along with many other monuments, was moved here from the old church in 1874.
