Exploring the Cheese World Museum

A Journey Through Dairy History

The museum is located at a special spot. It's where the first Warrnambool Cheese and Butter factory began way back in 1888. The museum shows you how this company grew over time. It also teaches you about the dairy industry in Victoria from the early 1900s. You'll learn how milk was turned into delicious products like cheese and butter.

Amazing Engines on Display

Besides dairy history, the museum has a fantastic collection of old engines and car parts. These items were given to the museum by the Warrnambool & District Historical Vehicle Club. They also help keep them working!

One special part of this collection is the Dave Lee Vintage Engine Collection. Dave Lee was a person who dug water holes and sold windmills in the Warrnambool area. He donated over 110 engines! You can also see a big Ruston & Hornsby tractor engine. It's cool to see how these old machines powered farms and businesses.

Awards and Recognition

The museum does a great job, mostly thanks to volunteers. In 2014, it was nominated for an Archival Survival award. This award was for museums run by volunteers in Victoria. It shows how much hard work goes into keeping the museum awesome for visitors like you!
