Allen Stephen Covert (born October 13, 1964) is an American actor, comedian, writer, and movie producer. He is famous for starring in the 2006 comedy movie Grandma's Boy. He is also known for being a close friend and frequent collaborator of actor Adam Sandler.
Covert has appeared in many of Sandler's most popular films. You might recognize him from movies like Happy Gilmore (1996), The Wedding Singer (1998), Big Daddy (1999), Little Nicky (2000), and 50 First Dates (2004).

Life and Friendship with Adam Sandler
Allen Covert was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. His father was Jewish and his mother was a Southern Baptist.
He went to New York University to study theater. There, he became classmates and friends with Adam Sandler. This friendship would shape much of his career. Covert has worked on almost every movie and comedy album that Sandler has released.
Covert was married to Kathryn Hagstrom from 2006 to 2019.

Covert's career is closely linked with Adam Sandler's. He has worked both in front of the camera as an actor and behind the scenes as a writer and producer.
Acting Roles
Covert's first movie role was in 1989 in Going Overboard, which was also Adam Sandler's first film. He played small parts in many Sandler movies, like Otto, the homeless caddy in Happy Gilmore.
His first major role was as Sammy in The Wedding Singer in 1998, where he acted alongside Sandler and Drew Barrymore. After that, he had bigger roles in movies like Little Nicky, for which he gained 40 pounds to play the part.
In 2006, Covert had his first and only leading role in the movie Grandma's Boy. He played the main character, Alex, a video game tester. Adam Sandler was an executive producer for the film. Covert also had a main role in the 2008 movie Strange Wilderness.
Behind the Scenes
Even when he's not on screen, Covert has been very involved in making movies. He worked as an executive producer for Sandler's movie company, Happy Madison Productions. This means he helped manage the business side of making films. He also co-wrote many of the company's movies.
Covert also helped write many of the funny songs that Adam Sandler performs in his films.
Recent Work
In 2023, Covert left Happy Madison Productions to focus on his family. He has plans to start his own production company. His goal is to make more R-rated comedy movies that are shown in theaters.
