Almiserà is a small town, also called a municipality, located in Spain. It sits in the southern part of the Buixcarró mountains. This town is part of the Safor region in the Valencian Community.
Almiserà is about 14 kilometers (9 miles) from the Mediterranean Sea. It is also close to the coastal town of Gandia. You can reach Almiserà from Valencia by taking main roads like the N-332, CV-686, and CV-60.

Climate and Nature
The weather in Almiserà is usually mild, meaning it's not too hot or too cold. Winds from the east bring rain, which helps the land stay green and fertile.
The town is built on a small hill next to the Vernisa River. It is surrounded by mountains and has many natural springs. This makes Almiserà a great place for ecotourism, which means enjoying nature responsibly.
Interesting Places to Visit
Almiserà has several historical and interesting spots:
- Vilella Castle: You can see the old ruins of Vilella Castle.
- Parish Church of the Nativity of Our Lady: This is the main church in the village.
- Traditional Washhouse: There is a public washhouse where people used to do their laundry.
- Old Watermill: An old watermill that was used until the late 1950s can also be seen.
Near Almiserà, you can also visit the Monastery of Sant Jeroni de Cotalba. This monastery was built in the 1300s. It is part of the "Route of the Monasteries" tour in Valencia, which is a popular way to explore historical sites.
Village Festivals
Almiserà celebrates several fun festivals, known as fiestas. The main village festivals usually last for four days. They are held during the last week of August. The last day of these festivals is always the last Saturday of the month.
- Day 1: La Vespra (The Eve). This day marks the start of the festivals.
- Day 2: El dia de l’Ajuntament (Town Council Day). This day is organized by the Town Council. It is dedicated to the village’s patron saint, St. Ursula.
- Day 3: El dia dels festers jóvens (Young People's Day). A group of young people from the village organizes this day. It is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception.
- Day 4: El dia dels festers casats (Married Couples' Day). This day is organized by married couples. It is dedicated to the Christ of Refuge.
Besides these main festivals, there are other celebrations. People honor Saint Ursula on October 21. They also celebrate Saint Anthony on January 17.
