Alpine Mountain Ski & Ride Center was a fun place for skiing and snowboarding. It was located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. This mountain was southeast of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

What Was Alpine Mountain?

Alpine Mountain had 21 different trails for skiers and snowboarders. These trails were for all skill levels.

  • There were 3 green trails, which are the easiest. These were great for beginners.
  • Twelve blue trails offered a medium challenge. They were good for people who had skied a bit before.
  • Six diamond trails were the most difficult. These were for expert skiers looking for a challenge.

The mountain also had a special area called a terrain park. This park was on the east side of the mountain. It was at the bottom of the Swivel trail. Terrain parks have jumps, rails, and other features for tricks. In 2013, Alpine Mountain was voted the "Best Family Ski Area" in its region by On the Snow.

A Look at Its History

In 2013, Alpine Mountain was put up for sale. An unknown buyer bought the ski area. It then opened for the 2013–14 ski season on December 20, 2013.

After two years with new owners, the mountain closed again in 2015. In 2017, a local family bought the property. They have not yet shared their plans for what Alpine Mountain will become.
