Altitude 25 is a tall apartment building located on Fairfield Road in Croydon, London. It's one of the tallest buildings in Croydon, standing proudly in the city's skyline. This building was part of a big plan to make an old area near East Croydon station new and modern again.
What is Altitude 25?
Altitude 25 was finished in 2009. It has 26 floors of apartments, going up to the 25th floor. This is why it's called "Altitude 25"! The building reaches a height of about 94 meters (307 feet). It's an important part of the Croydon Vision 2020 project, which aimed to bring many new and exciting buildings to the town.
Design and Homes
The building has 196 apartments. These homes include both private apartments and affordable housing options. The main part of the design is a 25-storey tower shaped like an oval. This unique shape was planned to make the building a new landmark in the middle of Croydon.
Devereux Architects designed Altitude 25. They worked with Howard Holdings plc, the company that developed the building. The building is right next to a large hotel, the Croydon Park Hotel. Residents of Altitude 25 can use some shared fun facilities with the hotel. There are also 100 parking spaces for people living in the apartments.
