Amal Hijazi (Arabic: أمل حجازي; born 20 February 1977) is a famous Lebanese singer and actress. She became well-known in the early 2000s with her pop music. Her first album, Akher Gharam, came out in 2001. Her second album, Zaman, released in 2002, had many hit songs. These included "Zaman", "Oulhali", "Einak", and "Romansyia".
Amal Hijazi continued to release popular music. Her album Baya al Ward came out in 2006. In 2007, she released a new song called "Nefsy Tefhamny". Her fifth album, Keef el Amar, was released in 2008.

Early Life and Education
Amal Hijazi was born in Beirut, Lebanon. Her family originally came from a town called Kfarfila. She has five brothers and sisters. Amal's father passed away when she was ten years old.
She lived in France for ten years during the Lebanese Civil War. This was a difficult time in her home country. In 2001, she finished her studies in Architecture.
Music Career Highlights
Becoming a Star (2000–2003)
Amal Hijazi's first song, Halan ("Right Away"), was released in 2000. This song helped her become a major artist in Lebanon. It was very popular in Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan. Because of its success, her team asked her to record another song.
Her second song, Rayyah Balak ("Put Your Mind at Ease"), came out a year later. She also made a music video for it. This song was a big hit across the Middle East. The music video was also very well-liked by fans and critics.
In the same year, her first album Akher Gharam was released. It included the hit song of the same name. This album was a huge success. It became the highest-selling first album ever released by a female artist in 2001. It was also one of the top-selling Arabic albums that year. Akher Gharam had three popular songs: "Akher Gharam", "Habibi Oud", and "Ghanniet". These songs helped her stay at the top of the music charts for over six months. Her first four songs all reached number one in countries like Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria.
Her album Akher Gharam was also popular outside the Middle East, especially in Malaysia. Amal even performed at the Malaysian Popular Star Award in 2002.
After this success, Amal Hijazi released her second album, Zaman (meaning Long Ago). The main song, "Zaman", was an instant hit. The album quickly became a bestseller in many countries. Critics felt this album was even better than her first. It sold incredibly well, even with strong competition from other singers.
The song "Zaman" became one of the biggest hits in the Middle East. It is still known as one of Amal Hijazi's most famous songs. Another song, "Romansiya", was also very popular. Its music video was one of the most watched in 2003. By the end of the year, Zaman was one of the highest-selling albums by a female artist. Its huge success led Amal to sign a big deal with Panasonic.

New Styles and Albums (2006–2008)
After a break of more than two years, Amal Hijazi released her fourth album, Baya al Ward, in 2006. This album received mixed reviews because of its modern song lyrics and unique artwork. Amal returned with a very different look, which caused some discussion.
The music video for Baya al Ward also caused a lot of talk. Critics found her new style and the video very bold and different. Amal explained that she didn't mean to cause any controversy with her choices. Despite the discussions, the album Baya al Ward sold very well and produced two hit songs.
In 2007, Amal Hijazi released a new song called "Nefsy Tefhamny". This song had a mix of traditional and modern Middle Eastern sounds. In 2008, she released her fifth album, Keef el Amar, which included "Nefsy Tefhamny". The first song from Keef el Amar was "Ahla Mafe el Ayyam".
Later Music and Themes (2009–2017)
The second song from her album, "Albi Nadak", was released in 2009. Amal said she dedicated this song to motherhood. In the music video, she appears as a pregnant woman. The video reached number 4 on the Rotana Top 10 chart.
Amal Hijazi then released her album Waylak Min Allah, with the main song having the same title. This song reached number 1 in Lebanon. The music video told a story about a relationship.
As changes happened in the Arab world, Amal released her song "Fen el Dameer" ("Where is the Conscience") in April 2013. The song's lyrics talked about the situation in the Arab World.
Focus on Religious Music (2017–Present)
In September 2017, Amal Hijazi announced a big change in her career. She decided to stop performing pop music and would only sing religious songs from then on.
Personal Life
Amal Hijazi married Mohammed al-Bassam in 2008. They have two children together, a son named Karim and a daughter named Lareen.
Image and Style
After her album Zaman came out in 2002, there were discussions about Amal Hijazi's new look. She clarified that she had only had one nose surgery. She also said she was careful about having too many cosmetic procedures.
In 2005, Amal Hijazi was chosen by Lebanese designer Joe Raed to model his new collection of wedding dresses. Ra'ed chose her because of her kind nature and beauty.
