Early Life
Amanda Miguel was born on June 1, 1956, in Gaiman, a town in the Chubut Province of Argentina.
Music Career
When Amanda was 17, she met Diego Verdaguer, who was also a musician. They later got married. Diego was already a well-known artist. Amanda joined his music group called Mediterráneo. The group became popular in Los Angeles, California.
Later, a music executive discovered Amanda. This led her to start her own music career as a solo artist.
First Albums
Amanda Miguel's first album, El Sonido Vol. 1, was recorded in 1981 and released in 1982. It had a different sound from her previous group and was very successful. She released more albums in the years that followed. Some of her popular songs from this time include Asi No Te Amara Jamas, Él Me Mintió (1981), and Mi Buen Corazón (1982). These songs are still played on radio stations today.
Taking a Break and Returning
After her daughter, Ana Victoria, was born, Amanda took a break from recording music. She wanted to focus on being a mother.
She returned to music in 1987 with her fourth album, El Pecado. In 1989, she recorded her fifth album, El Rostro del Amor. The main song from this album was chosen to welcome Pope John Paul II during his visit to Mexico.
For her sixth album, Rompecorazones, Amanda tried a different style of music called ranchero. A composer named Federico Mendez helped her choose the songs, and the title song became a big hit.
Later Works
In 1996, Amanda Miguel traveled to Italy to record Amame una vez más. This album was released the same year and was very popular in the United States and Latin America. The main song was even nominated for a music award.
She recorded another album in 1998, which was released in 1999 as 5 Dias. This album included a new version of her song "Así Como Hoy."
In 2005, she released her album Piedra de Afilar. This album had a more modern sound. It also featured a special duet song with her husband, Diego, called "Siempre Fuimos Dos."
