Ambergate is a quiet, semi-rural area. It is located near the city of Busselton in the South West region of Western Australia. In 2021, about 564 people lived there.
History of Ambergate
Ambergate started to grow after European settlers arrived. It was part of a plan called the Group Settlement Scheme. This plan helped people move to and develop rural areas.
Early Buildings
- A school opened in Ambergate in 1924.
- This school taught children until 1941.
- A community hall was built in 1935.
- This hall was also used as the school building.
Becoming a Suburb
Ambergate officially became a bounded area in 1987. Its borders were changed in 1998. These new borders followed natural lines like rivers and property boundaries. The area is now planned for future urban growth.
