Ambrose Leevolio Reid (born December 3, 1898 – died April 7, 1966) was a skilled American baseball player. He played as an Outfielder in the Negro leagues during the 1920s and 1930s. These leagues were professional baseball organizations for African-American players. They existed when players of different races were not allowed to play together in Major League Baseball.

Early Career and Debut
Reid started playing in the Negro leagues with the Atlanta Black Crackers. This was his first team in 1920. He quickly showed his talent as an outfielder.
Playing for the Bacharach Giants
Ambrose Reid's baseball career lasted for 13 seasons. He spent most of these years playing for the Bacharach Giants. This team was based in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He played with them from 1922 to 1929.
Later Years and Other Teams
In 1931, Reid had a very strong season. He played for the Homestead Grays, a famous team from Pennsylvania. Later that same year, he joined the Pittsburgh Crawfords. He finished his career in 1932. He played his final season with the Atlanta Black Crackers, the same team he started with.
Ambrose Reid passed away in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1966. He was 67 years old.
