Amel Bouchoucha was born in Oran, a city in Algeria. In 2015, she married Waleed Awada, a businessman from Lebanon. They welcomed their daughter, Lea, in 2017.

Becoming a Star: Star Academy
Amel Bouchoucha first became well-known when she joined the 5th season of Star Academy Arab World. This was a big singing competition, and Amel represented her home country, Algeria. During her time on the show, Amel's popularity grew quickly. People noticed her powerful voice and her lively stage presence.
While on Star Academy, Amel sang many songs in both Arabic and French. She was nominated to leave the show three times. The first time, she sang a popular song by Najwa Karam. She also performed with guest singer Haifa Wehbe. Amel was saved by public votes, meaning her fans voted for her to stay.
Her second nomination also saw her saved by the public. However, her third nomination led to her leaving the competition. Even though she was eliminated, Amel gave a great performance. She sang with guest singer Chantal Chamandy.
Amel also took part in fun sketches on the show. She was part of a trio called the Academy's Angels. This was a playful take on the famous "Charlie's Angels."
