Amiga CD32 facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Amiga CD32 was a special game console. It was made by a company called Commodore International. This console came out in 1993. It was built using parts similar to the Amiga A1200 computer.

You could even add extra parts to the CD32. These parts included a keyboard, a floppy disk drive, a hard drive, more memory (RAM), and a mouse. Adding these parts could turn your CD32 console into something like an Amiga 1200 personal computer!

In late 1993, the CD32 was quite popular in the UK. It made up 38% of all CD-ROM player sales during that Christmas season. It even sold more than the Mega-CD. However, other companies soon released their own CD-ROM game consoles. These new consoles became more popular. The Amiga CD32 was stopped when Commodore International went out of business in 1994.

About 175 different games were made for the Amiga CD32.
