Amir Sarkhosh (born 30 May 1991) is a talented snooker player from Karaj, Iran. Snooker is a cue sport played on a large table covered with green cloth, where players use a cue stick to hit a white ball (the cue ball) and pocket 15 red balls and six colored balls in a specific order. Amir Sarkhosh is well-known for winning the Asian Snooker Championship three times.

Amir Sarkhosh's Snooker Journey

Amir Sarkhosh started playing in international snooker tournaments in 2004. At first, he didn't win many big titles, but he kept working hard.

Early Years and First Finals

In 2008, Amir reached the main part of the Amateur World Championship. He also made it to the quarter-finals (the round before the semi-finals) of the under-21 Asian Championship. He reached two more quarter-finals in under-21 championships in 2012.

In 2013, Amir played in the final of the Asian Six-Red Snooker Championship. Six-Red Snooker is a faster version of the game with fewer red balls. He lost that final to Muhammad Asif. Later that year, he was invited to play in the Six-Red snooker tournament at the 2013 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. He reached the final again but lost to Xiao Guodong.

First Big Wins

The next year, in 2014, Amir Sarkhosh reached the 6-Red Asian Championship final once more. This time, he won his first international title against Boonyarit Keattikun! Soon after, he and his teammate Ehsan Heydari Nezhad reached the final of a team tournament, but they lost to a team from India.

Amir continued to do well. He reached the quarter-finals of the 2014 IBSF World Snooker Championship and the semi-finals of the Asian Championships in 2013 and 2016. He was especially good in team events during this time.
