Amir Sarkhosh (born May 30, 1991) is a talented snooker player from Karaj, Iran. Snooker is a cue sport played on a large table covered with green cloth, where players use a cue stick to hit a white ball (the cue ball) and pot other colored balls into pockets. Amir Sarkhosh is famous for winning the Asian Snooker Championship three times!

Amir Sarkhosh's Snooker Journey
Starting Out as an Amateur
Amir Sarkhosh began playing in international snooker tournaments in 2004. At first, he didn't win many big titles. In 2008, he reached the main part of the Amateur World Championship and made it to the quarter-finals (the round before the semi-finals) of the under-21 Asian Championship. He continued to improve, reaching two more under-21 quarter-finals in 2012.
In 2013, Amir played in the final of the Asian Six-Red Snooker Championship but lost. Six-Red snooker is a faster version of the game with fewer balls. Later that year, he also reached the final at the 2013 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which is a big sports event for Asian countries, but he lost again.
First Big Wins
Amir's hard work paid off in 2014 when he won his first international title at the Six-Red Asian Championship! He beat Boonyarit Keattikun in an exciting final. After this win, he was invited to play in the professional Six-Red World Championship in 2013 and 2014, which was a great experience for him.
He also had success playing in teams. In 2015 and 2016, he and his teammate Soheil Vahedi won the Asian Team Championship. They also won the IBSF World Team Cup in 2016. In 2017, Amir, Soheil Vahedi, and Hossein Vafaei won a gold medal together in the snooker team event at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
In 2017, Amir reached the final of the IBSF World Snooker Championship, a very important amateur tournament, but he didn't win the title that time. However, in 2018, he won the Asian Snooker Championship, which was another big achievement!
More Championships and Professional Debut
Amir continued his winning streak. In 2019, he won the Six-Red Asian Championship again. He reached the final of the Asian Championship in 2021 and the IBSF World Snooker Championship in 2021 and 2022, showing he was consistently one of the best players.
In 2022, he won the Asian Snooker Championship for the second time, beating Ishpreet Singh Chadha. The following year, 2023, was fantastic for Amir as he won his third Asian Championship title! This made him one of the most successful players in the history of the tournament. He also won the Six-Red Asian Championship for the third time in 2023.
In 2024, Amir Sarkhosh joined the World Snooker Tour, which means he became a professional snooker player! This was a huge step in his career. He has already had some good wins against other professional players, showing he can compete at the highest level.
