Amish, sometimes called Joetown, is a small place in Iowa, United States. It's not a big city or town with its own government. Instead, it's an "unincorporated community." This means it's part of a larger area called Washington Township in Johnson County.
Amish is also close to Iowa City. Because of this, it's considered part of the Iowa City metropolitan area. The community sits about 758 feet (231 meters) above sea level. You can find it on a map at these coordinates: 41°32′9″N 91°47′12″W / 41.53583°N 91.78667°W.
A Look Back: The History of Amish
Amish has a short history with a few population numbers. In 1902, about 64 people lived there. By 1925, the population grew a little to 75 people. However, in 1940, the number of residents went down to 56.
