Amity is a small community located in Amwell Township, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own separate local government like a city or town. Amity is also home to two interesting old structures: the Bailey Covered Bridge and the Hughes Covered Bridge.
History
Amity was first planned and settled in 1797. The community got its name from the local Amity Presbyterian Church. The word "Amity" itself means friendship, which is a nice meaning for a place where people live together!

- Abel McFarland was an important person from Amity. He served as a State Senator from 1811 to 1818. A State Senator is someone who is elected to help make laws for the state.
