Amy Dahan-Dalmédico earned her first doctorate degree in mathematics in 1979. A doctorate is a very high university degree you get after a lot of study and research. After that, she taught math at the University of Amiens until 1983.
Then, she became a researcher for the CNRS, which is a big French organization for scientific research. She has also taught at other important schools, like the École Polytechnique and the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences.
