Ana Romero Masiá, born in Santiago de Compostela on January 4, 1952, is a smart Galician woman. She is a historian, an archaeologist, and a teacher. She helps us learn about the past!

Learning About the Past

Ana Romero Masiá went to the University of Santiago de Compostela. She studied Ancient History and Art History there. Later, she earned her doctorate in history. This means she became an expert in history.

In the 1980s, she worked as an archaeologist. She helped dig up and study the ancient site called Castro de Borneiro. This was a very old village from the Iron Age.

Today, she leads the Institute of Monte B. Moas. This is a secondary school in A Coruña. She also teaches Geography and History to students there.

Awards and Recognition

In 2011, Ana Romero Masiá received an important award. It was the Luis Tilve Research Disclosure Historical award. She won it for a book she wrote with Carlos Pereira. The book was about Xaime Quintanilla Martínez, a socialist and Galician activist. This award recognized her great work in sharing historical knowledge.

Family Life

Ana Romero Masiá was married to José Manuel Pose Mesura. He was also a history professor. Her daughter, Ana Pose Romero, is a music teacher. She teaches at CRA Os Remuíños in A Laracha.
